We went on our first field trip yesterday in Spanish class. Our teacher, Hugo, took us to a typical Bolivian house where we were taught how to make some tasty Bolivian emanadas (bread filled with cheese) and cookies. We had a wonderful time learning and experiencing how they prepare the dough without any bowls or spoons. They use the counter and pour out the flour, they make a large circle in the center of the flour where they pour everything else in. Then, they mix the inner ingredients together and proceed to add the flour into the mixture when it's ready. We enjoyed the process very much and thought we would share a few photos of our day.
The first picture is of us working hard making empanadas.
The second picture is the finished product. We are pictured here with our teacher, Hugo, and the woman who was teaching us how to make the empanadas and cookies.
