Arriving in Santa Cruz

Hola from Bolivia! We have arrived and here are some photos of our home town views:

We are living in a one bedroom apartment behind the missions home. The pictures above were taken from windows in our place.
On Sunday we had the opportunity to go to our first church service since moving here. It was a one year anniversary for one of our churches down here. Below is a clip of the Dios es Amor church and congregation singing "How Great Thou Art" in Spanish.

The Holidays

We have been so thankful to have Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years here in Oregon as we gear up for our departure to Bolivia. We have had the necessary time to spend with our family and relatives. Now that the New Year is over, we are working to pack our bags and say final good-byes to everyone before we fly out on the 15th.

During the Christmas season we had a great deal of snow and rain. We actually were snowed in with our parents for five days. Once we were able to travel again, we found that our usual running trail had flooded. So... the tail end of our 2008 running looked something like this:

The good news was that Kevin made a deal with Lisa that whoever became the most muddy would get a piece of chocolate. Of course, we had to have a good mud fight. And the end result was as follows:

And believe me (Lisa)... the chocolate was fabulous.
Anyway, we hope you all had a great holiday season and our looking forward to a great new year. The next blog update will include some warmer weather from Bolivia.
